A letter to West Falls Volunteer Fire Company
To the West Falls Volunteer Fire Co. & Ladies Auxiliary,
This is a truly heartfelt thank you to all of you from our family, for all of your efforts on the evening of May 6, to search out and find our lost son. Even though the end result was still tragic, he was found, and a special thank you for whomsoever was involved with first hand discovery. I observed massive mobilization and coordination of efforts of combined force of ours and many neighboring search and rescue teams. It was community and it was admirable.
I'm sure that far more than what I could be aware of, had to be going on in order to carry out and execute and support and to coordinate all the efforts of the many people involved. All of this was accomplished however, with professionalism, courtesy, and kindness, with respect towards our family and friends. It was efficient and coordinated and definitely to be complimented. All of these men and women are to be applauded for their diligence, their faithfulness, and their commitment.
Hooray for our firefighters and our police who serve us all with this attitude.

WFFC Vehicle Extrication Training
WFFC hosted a vehicle extrication training this past week, under the command of NYS instructor Jay Mazurkiewicz. Vehicle extrication is the process of removing the vehicle from around a person that has been involved in a motor vehicle accident, when conventional means of exit are impossible or unadvisable. A delicate approach is needed to minimize injury to the victim during the extrication. This operation is typically accomplished by utilizing chocks and bracing for stabilization and hydraulic tools, including the Jaws of Life. I'm proud to say that our company showed expertise and efficiency during the practical scenarios and would like to say thank you to all who donated vehicles to the cause. If you would like to donate a vehicle to West Falls Fire Company (or you're local co.) please make the call today. The more we can practice, the more efficient the process becomes, plus it's a tax deductible donation. If you would like to check out a few photos from the training, just head over to the WFFC Facebook. Be Safe!
Purchased with your generous donations
WFFC has used proceeds from past fund drives to purchase an ambulance that will be donated to the Aurora Colden Fire District #6. The demand for ambulance services in our community is increasing. By purchasing the ambulance and staffing it with our 100% volunteer EMS squad we are doing our best to provide a vital service to the members of our community, while trying to minimize the tax burden on homeowners.
